Meet Henry Takasan

Henry Takasan is the owner of the Golden Lotus Cafe in Hat Creek, Alberta. The Golden Lotus Cafe is a unique cafe specializing in cowboy cuisine with a world flavour. Henry moved to Hat Creek in 1995 and opened the cafe. It is now Hat Creek’s only cafe. Henry is an experienced chef and was originally trained in Nagasaki Japan as a sushi chef. When he moved to Alberta in 1990, he went to work for a local outfitter in the Cochrane Valley where he prepared meals for hungry cowboys on the Northern Range. Today, Henry serves local cuisine with world flavours. Henry is on the organizing committee of the Cowboy Campfire festival held annually in July.
